From the Studio
Short visual stories from the forest studio on Bass Lake: paintings as they come off the easel, the animals that turn up, what the light is doing, and what I am testing this week.
A companion project
SoilScapes: an invitation to listen
SoilScapes began with a simple interruption. When winter froze the experimental soil beds at Bass Lake, the data stopped. In that silence, measuring stopped and listening began. Eight recording stations now work as an ensemble, instruments tuned to the slow grammar of the ground.
